12:30 PM – Archives of Resistance and Resilience
What are archives and how are they leveraged to mobilize or repress social struggle? why are institutions investing in ‘community based archives,” and how can we resist the elite capture of our pasts and presents? this discussion will engage in these questions and introduce the Archives Commune, a nascent resource hub in Tucson. Feel free to bring items or ideas for a Q&A on starting your own archive.
12:30 PM – Pottery Through Change
Learn to hand-build a small clay bowl or offering vessel with guided discussion that considers concepts of impermanence and transformation.
1 PM – Tricksters at the Edge / A Playful Practice of Disruption
How will we conspire with the tricksters inside us to break out of the systems that bind us?
What is unleashed when belief in the possible meets action?
Inspired by political tricksters of the past and present, we will use tools and games to activate our subconscious as an autonomous space in which rebellion can be sparked.
1 PM – Digital Security & Organizing
Come learn some basics about digital security, how to stay safe when organizing online, and how to feel more confident about making moves in an era of increasing electronic surveillance. After a rapid-fire set of topics, we will switch to an open discussion. Come with questions, worries, or threats you have in mind, and we’ll see if we can figure out how you can reduce your digital paranoia and continue organizing both yourself and your communities.
1 PM – Combatives Workshop
Skill share with Sonoran Combatives!
2 PM – Protest Equipment & Tactics
When regular people stand up to the rich and powerful, cops and other government agents always try to shut us down. We won’t let them! Come learn about the ways they try to do this and the various tools and methods we can use to protect ourselves & each other while fighting back.
2 PM – Tool Share Program Volunteer Drive
Tucson Toolbox – Establishing a tool library and community skill-sharing program
2:30-3 PM – Between Worlds/ Beyond the Physical
so many of us engage in practices that explore phenomena beyond our material reality. divination, ritual, art, communication with ancestors (to name a few) can bring insight, and alter how we relate to the world of form itself. if we decide to take the non-physical seriously and play with it, how can we come to trust our own perceptions, or discern what’s true? what does it have to do with revolutionary lives and liberatory world building? and what would happen if we talk about it more ? facilitated knowledge-share (pop-ed style).
2:30 PM – Salon on the Future of Housing Cooperatives in Tucson
Facilitated discussion on housing cooperatives – where folks could share what they know, are excited about, strategies regarding housing cooperatives.
3 PM – Get Going: Get Organized
How can we answer questions of revolutionary organization without slipping into dogma and easy answers? This talk tries to use historic case studies and theoretical developments of the last decade of uprisings to point us in a few potential directions.
3:30 PM – Solidarity on the Ground in Palestine
I recently spent 5 weeks doing solidarity work in the West Bank. I’d like to share my experiences with other people, answer questions, and offer support to others interested in going.
4:30 PM – Collective Strategizing
Imagining a free world for everyone and the concrete steps we can take to move in that direction. Beyond slogans and social media posts, there’s a lot we can do to have loving, dignified lives together while fighting back against systems of domination. All day, there will be an area where we can discuss and illustrate our goals and strategies. At 4:30 we will gather to share what we’ve come up with and how to move forward in actualizing our rebellious dreams.
